Vagaro Cares

Here at Vagaro, we believe in giving back to our community and to those who need help. We invite you to join us on our philanthropic campaigns.

Inspiring Community Youth with Career Exploration

The Hidden Genius Project, a transformative initiative founded in Oakland, CA, is dedicated to empowering Black male students by providing mentorship, professional experience, and internship opportunities in tech, finance, and business. Recently, Vagaro hosted the cohort of 50 students at our headquarters to showcase different career opportunities in the corporate realm and provide an opportunity for them to Q&A with an exclusive panel of software professionals.

Raising funds for ALS research and cure development

The ALS Cure Project aims to identify the ALS disease mechanism to help develop a cure for the disease. ALS CURE Project was founded in 2019 by Mike Piscotty and Stephen Piscotty in honor of Gretchen Piscotty with the sole purpose of finding a cure for ALS. Vagaro proudly sponsored the organization's 2nd Annual Topgolfin' for a Cure event in San Jose, CA.

Helping fight hunger in our community

The Alameda County Food Bank works toward a stronger, more nourished Alameda County, where no one worries where their next meal will come from. The Vagaro team volunteered their time to sort and pack thousands of pounds of farm-fresh produce and dry goods for the organization which distributes enough food to serve 60,000 people a day.

Aiding local families in need

At a time of year when many Americans are compelled to give thanks, Vagaro gave back to those experiencing housing insecurity and other hardships. For our Giving Tuesday initiative, we donated much-needed toiletries and essential hygiene products, as well as gas, grocery, and coffee shop gift cards to Monthly Miracles, a charity based in the San Francisco Bay Area that aids those experiencing poverty and homelessness. “Having that consistent supply of toiletries and basic hygiene stuff is huge,” said Kristina Bethea, executive director of Monthly Miracles. “So many people are so grateful.”

Empowering at-risk youth with education

Vagaro was honored to sponsor the 2018 Fashion SOULstice hair and fashion show, organized by the Justice and Soul Foundation to raise funds for cosmetology training of sexually exploited and at-risk youth. Hundreds of salons, stylists and designers came together to showcase their amazing hair and fashion creations, raising over $60,000 in just one night! Together, we collected sufficient funds to sponsor cosmetology training for 3 young people. Donate here to help additional students - this is the time to make a difference!

Members of Vagaro HQ hit the road on Sunday to jump start Breast Cancer Awareness month!! #vagarothinkspink Help us contribute towards national research, screenings, education, and treatments for thousands of women and men who cannot afford breast health care.

Participating and fundraising for No-Shave November

Vagaro raised more than $1700 for No-Shave November to fight cancer. We helped some great organizations like St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Thank you so much to everyone who donated!

The guys on our team put down their razors for the whole month of November and let their hair grow wild. We appreciate Livermore Barber Shop helping these guys tame their hair after their month-long journey.
